It’ll be so difficult for MS Dhoni to make a come back in ICC t20 world cup squad if IPL got canceled this year:-
On Saturday, former chairman of the selection committee Krish Srikkanth said that it would be very difficult for India’s Veteran cricketer Dhoni to be selected in the ICC T20 World Cup squad if IPL got canceled this year.
However, former England captain Naseer Hussain said that MSD still has a lot of flair and he is a cricketer who is born once in a generation.
Srikkanth said’ I can not be diplomatic on this topic if I would be a selector so I would think about the team first, what would be the right for the team I would go for that first, instead what is good for an individual.
He also said that KL Rahul would be the wicket-keeper batsman for the ICC t20 World Cup and Rishabh Pant will also be included in the team. He may have a little doubt but I think he has a lot of talent and the ability to play the game,
So, if I was a selector, I would have put them in the wc t20 squad. But if IPL does not happen this year, it will be very difficult for MS to make a come back in the Indian cricket team or WC squad.
Earlier him (Srikkanth), Indian team coach Ravi Shastri also said that the upcoming IPL season would be a testing ground for MS.
On the same show, former England captain Naseer Hussain said that Dhoni should not push for his retirement, he still has a lot to offer to the Indian cricket team.
Once he is gone, there will be no chance to getting him back. Some legends of the cricket world are praising MSD because a cricketer like him comes once in a generation, and don’t push him for his retirement.
Only he (MS) knows what the mental state of his mind and in the end the selectors select the players and the players are asked. Hussain said.
“Talking on MSD’s achievements, Srikkanth said that he is a very good player and he is very fit, there is no doubt on this, he has the prowess as well, in fact, I am also a great fan of him but if it comes on to the selection of the team for the ICC t20 World cup then I would definitely think about the team first as a selector rather than thinking about an individual”.
“Former English captain Naseer Hussain felt, Is MSD still good enough to get in the Indian side? It is as simple as that. That should apply to anyone across the board. What I have seen of MS, but in my opinion, there is a lot more cricket left with him (MSD), and he has a lot more left to serve for the Indian team”.
Hussain also said, yeah he has failed on some opportunities like in a world cup match where he couldn’t change the pace of his innings.
He made mistake one or two times while chasing why he could not accelerate his innings in the WC match in England.
Let me tell you that Mahi played his last match in the WC semi-final against New Zealand 8 months ago after which he has not been part of the Indian team for any series or he himself is away from cricket, this can be told by either dhoni himself or the team selectors.
