Well, in the last match SL beat the world champion England by 20 runs in the ICC world cup in England. After the world cup, this is the first time When the English team is going to visit Srilanka. According to the above schedule of the Srilanka vs England tour, the English team will have a Short tour to Srilanka just for two tests matches this test series will be the part of the ongoing Test Championship.
Lankan side will have the great opportunity to win this test series at their soil to earn some points and get a hike in the points table of the test championship. As per the above detail schedule, the test series will commence on 19 Mar 2020 at Galle International Stadium, Galle.
Test series will get concluded on 27-31 Mar 2020 at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo with the second and last test.

When the last time England cricket team came to Srilanka in 2018 for the 5 ODIs, 3 Tests and a T20 match and the English player completely dominated the Lankan side and won in all three formats. First, they beat SL in ODIs by 3-1. Then in the t20 and then in test matches, they clean sweep the hosting country.
Previously 2020, the Lankan side went to India for the 3 T20 matches where they lost 2 matches while 1st match of the series remains unplayed without a ball bowled. After coming from India, the Lankan side will move on to Zimbabwe for 2 test matches series.
While Eng team was previously busy with the proteas for (4 tests, 3 ODIs, and 3 T20s). After competing with the African team English team will move on to Srilanka for two tests.
